How-to install a SIM card into the BLOX
This page describe the steps necessary for installing a SIM card for the CB-0200 and CB-0210 modules
Introduction
The CB-0200 and CB-0210 communication modules have an internal LTE Cat. 4 modem. This modem needs a SIM card to register itselves to a cellular network. This how-to describes the steps to take to install the SIM card into the BLOX device.
Prerequisites
Following tools and modules are necessary for this how-to guide:
- Allen key size 2.
- Flat head screwdriver with max. tip width of 3mm.
- Any BLOX device with at CB-0200 or CB-0210 communication module.
Step by step guide
Step 1
- Loosen the 2 hex screws with the allen key.
Step 2
- Open the module cover carefully and place it to the left side.
- Make sure you don’t disconnect the antenna cables.
Step 3
In case you have an CB-0200 module, you can skip this step and proceed with step 4
This step need to be done carefully as it could damage the module.
- The gigabit ethernet board need to be removed. This can be done with the flat head screwdriver.
- Place the flat head in one of the holes as showed below and pull it gentley backwards to lift the board.
- When the board is slightly lifted, place the flat head in the other hole and repeat the same.
- Repeat this 2-3 times till the board will be completely lifted and the board can be removed by hand.
- Move the gigabit ethernet board close to the cover as showed below.
Step 4
- Place the SIM card in front of the SIM card holder as showed below.
- Make sure the SIM card contacts are pointing below and not up.
- Slide the SIM card gently into the holder all the way to the end as showed below.
Step 5
- Place the gigabit ethernet board back and press gently on the board till the board clicks into the connector.
- Afterwards, place the cover back in position. Make sure there are no cables squeezed between the cover and the BLOX enclosure.
- Mount the cover again with the 2 hex screws.
